device driver

hello, I have just loaded windows 2000 prof. on a laptop
for the first time. Bur the display only gives me an
option for 16 colours. Device manager shows a question
mark with a yellow circle against video controller (vga
compatable) and when I do a search I cannot find a device
driver. Can anyone help please.

You will need to find out what video chip is in your laptop so you can
download the proper drivers. If you can post the make and model of your
laptop someone here may be able to tell you.
