Hi!
I'm experiencing a very weird and as it seems rare problem with Windows XP (SP2). When I start my computer, I've got about five minutes to put in a CD (of any kind) or a floppy for any of those to work properly. After about five minutes, if I put in a new CD, I get a message that the "device is not ready". Same thing goes for digital cam, iPod etc. This is a really frustrating problem and I really can't find any sollution to it no matter how hard I try.
I had the feeling it all started with the installation of Norton Antivirus/ Internet Security 2005 but the problem remains even when deacitvating it.

Help would be much appreciated! Thanks,
/Daniel

I would remove Norton completely to see if that helps. Just because you disable it doesn't mean that it doesn't still have some control over your computer. Personally I would get rid of it regardless if it's screwing up my PC or not.

I use Avast antivirus, windows firewall and Adaware. I seem to have very little problems. Some might not agree with the way I have it setup, but it's been working fine for me.
