You are welcome.

Hmmm 495MHz stable.... sounds kinda weak, but that would get me a 4.5GHz E6600. I would want to water cool that NB, but those hook clasps make it very unlikely any WB will fit.... I might have to do some modding (this could get interesting 8O ).

Thanks for the information eva. Great site the one youre running, very glad to meet you!
It's all going to the OP

I know you didnt answer but, will be testing Triple Play Phyx?

@SuperFly03:
Radiical ships worldwide

Thanks... nah won't be playing with physic cards... current physic cards processing power/speed is way behind that of current generation of core2 cpus.. offloading to physic card probably will be slower for gaming than leaving it to our core2 generation of cpus. I think a revised physics card at least as fast as core2 low end cpu would be needed to see any gaming benefits.

Physic card may help those still with older single core cpus i guess ?

Shamino was nice enough to provide us with a review.
Lesson of the day: NB gets hawt!

I am yet to see a Triple Phyx review though...
NB issue can easily be remedied http://i4memory.com/icfx3200.php 😉

Thanks, but how do i get that in America? :wink:well radiical folks do take non-Aussie orders.. but i was referring to the remedy of reapplying TIM under NB and a simple fan over stock passive heatsink :)

That settles it then. We need better, more realistic games
Have fun with the asynch memory and chipset straps.

Yeh, the good old method.

Pleasure to see you here eva. Once you have a 100 posts and you'll be able to use your oh so famous Kenshin avatar :)

Anyways, I've been reading Windwinthme's thread, Tony's thread, as well as your many posts over at xstremesystems, keep up the good work, you guys are great. Your many threads have proven very helpfull and your pictures are just perfect.

I had a quick question for you that I don't believe you ever answered:
Did placing that small Swiftech mc14 ramsink on the ICS clockgen chip help at all?

I don't believe you ever posted your results on that theory and I was very curious about that myself.

Also...in your thread on i4....I noticed that you posted compatible dimentions for the chipset, if you have the time could you plz post a list of compatible NB or SB heatsinks for people wanting an aftermarket NB or SB heatsink on your thread.

I'm curious about the following since I wasnt happy with NB temps on Shaminos review. I know he did put down some serious overvoltage though...and I know you said there is a remedy for this, but some people like myself want active nb cooling and are not sure which ones will fit:

Extreme Spirit II
Jing Ting forcetake rev 2
Either of the HR-05's

Anyways, welcome to Tom's, hope to see you around here some more 8)

Keep up the good work eva2000

Thanks for the welcome...

no idea if ICS clockgen heatsink helped as i installed it before i first booted up the board :)

As to heatsinks, I'm fairly sure as you read from my link that Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II is compatible. Not sure about the other NB air chipset coolers.

Well, I'll go against the grain with a modification of a typical saying:

"No news is BAD news."

Anyone hear anything new? The releases date keeps getting pushed back...I'm really starting to feel like a sucker for waiting. The bait was thrown into the water in September for me. When I look back, I can't believe I've been following this "vapor-RD600" all this time. This is not a bash, just an observation when I look back - I doubt I'm alone in this. :) If anything, I'm bashing my own human nature to follow the carrot stick...

Since the other chipset prices haven't significantly dropped in this time, I'd feel even more "stupid" buying a 965 now when I could have bought one 5 months ago for close to the same price, lol. I want to buy something relatively "new" to "justify" my waiting, lol.

So the race is on: Any ideas when the new version of the 965 will be released (Asus Commando, etc)? Whichever one gets released first (new 965 or RD600) will most likely get my money at this point.

Man, and I was so looking forward to running an ATI/AMD chipset to power an Intel chip and using and Nvida GPU - seriously, lol.

according to a post on XS there are 200 boards due in the UK next week.

Sure why not...

Coolaler managed to get the FSB on the DFI rd600 to 545.26mhz...with air cooling. Then if you scroll down you'll see he hit 552.74 as well.

Lol feels like I have been waiting forever but still thinking i might upgrade from my msi 975x. Love the bios options. Now that we have seen more of it, whats everyones over all feelings on this board compared to its comp. Any benifits to this crossfire wise?

Aslo, this is probly a nubbish question but ill ask anyway. On my msi I can get the fsb to 430*8 which is 3.78. but I see mr coolaler lowered the multiplyer to 7 and and has 552 on the fsb which is 3.8868. I can see that he is running alot more fsb(2210mhz) compared to the roughly 1.5 i get with a 8 multiplier. What are the advantages of this?

TweakTown reviews the board
To this end though we managed to get the full 511MHz FSB out of the test system with only raising the CPU voltage to 1.4v, DRAM to 2.24v, and leaving the rest of the voltages at stock

@trenchdog73:
There are no improvements Crossfire wise over X975 but there are some over P965.
RD600 is a typical Intel platform, it loves FSB. Running a higher FSB vs. a lower one even running the same final clock speed will give you an improvement in performance. Usually youre able to achieve higher clock speeds with higher multipliers so it counters the above fact, gaining this, higher performance.

The boards are out for preordering!
Nintek.com ZipZoomFly.com Ncix.com among others will have them on stock on January 12th.

Hurry up and preorder so THGFZ can get as many boards as possible!

But Preorder in Ncix.com...

Ah score. It's on preorder now. The first piece of my new rig....

Next buy will probably be 4GB of RAM then a Q6600 or E6600... not sure which, but I will let some things play out to see which is worth more.

Last part will be video card, for obvious reasons.

Thanks again.

I am at a point where I dont believe any forum posts. If its not published, take it with pinch of salt.

well there are definitely ICFX3200 boards in DFI Europe's warehouse so it's just how fast they can get them from there to retailers.

Yeah, newegg is either 1) not getting any or b) just being damned slow. I had to order mine from Canda, dario was kind enough to give me a link to ncix.com. I enjoy DFI too much not to get one for my C2D/Q build. Now I need RAM and a CPU... then I can hang out and wait for the R600. I hope I don't have to get a new PSU to power that thing, I am already adding 2 PSU's for TEC lol. This new build will be the mother of all power drains: 1 600w PSu, 2 x 320w PSU (1 per TEC). $10 says the EPA calls me about it, j/k.

How many watts are the tec's and what will you be using them on?

Newegg is supposed to be the first US e-tailor to have them in stock, and I didn't even want to bother with preorders, although Ncix is a good site.

Here is what my rig will be.
