Hi,
I have a problem with my Windows NT 4.0 server.
It started after i installed BDC on domain. First
the dhcp server gave on Active Leases window an BAD
ADDRESS on few IPs. Then when i tried to connect another
new PC on network and it failed. After hours of search
i found that the DHCP database seems to be locked or
something. It gives lease to PC that has been on network
before but it wont let me to change network names and
I cant connect new PCs. Everytime I try it give "The DHCP
server issued NACK to the client ( .....) for the address
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) request". I also searched ms knowledge base but the best thing they offered was to install latest
service pack (witch i already have).
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

A couple of issues are possible.

1. you need to re-apply the latest service pack. Even though you already have the latest installed, many times something you install or a configuration change requires that for all software to work properly, you must re-apply the service pack.

2. What are the properties of your DHCP server. Scope? Lease length?

Let us know more about your setup and maybe you will be able to fix it.

Check out my rig:

lease length is from 3 to 254. dhcp server is 2 and router
is 1. system is built so that router does NAT from 1 IP and rest of the PCs get their IP from DHCP.
PS. i have 200MB free space on NOS partition.
is it possible that it just doesnt have enough disk space?

If it only started after you added the BDC to the domain then it sounds like that is the problem. Make sure the BDC isn't also trying to give out leases and conflicting with the primary DHCP server or something similar.
