The 10 item limit sucks.. I wish it was a bit larger. I understand why it's limited but 10 is.. meh.. not enough.

You can play through normal with full Dex. Even Nightmare you could probably get by with just a little bit of Vit. For Hell and Inferno.. things will one shot you, easily.

When I started Hell on my Monk I was breezing through stuff for the most part (a few tough elite packs) up to the Skeleton King. I walk up to him thinking I'm all big and bad about to own him - easy mode. Yeah.. first swing - 23,000 - one shot. That's pretty much how the game has been since. 😛

Ahh you must be getting close then to Diablo.

Ever since switching back to +int NM has been slightly easier. But for the most part - I was squishy as well even in Normal...and in NM even more so.

However I still have to stick and move for large mobs/bosses. It still kind of sucks though since I haven't found a proper wand yet, I have a nice offhand item but I need a good 1h weapon first. Currently i'm using some kind of bad-ass sword.

As for resistence - I can see the need for having multiple sets of gear depending on the type of monsters you are fighting in the higher difficulties (NM and above). Right now I have a hard time with monsters that have the "vampirism/Teleport/shock damage" especially the vampirism one - since they champions and have tons of HP.

ARgh I know. It really does suck.

Is the monk your only char so far? I've only been using the Wiz so far so I can climb up to NM and above. I don't feel like re-creating since it feels like i'm just starting to "unlock" all the awesome spells.

I've also heard that the Wizard is probably the most powerful char in game? Due to possibly handling large mobs/bosses at the higher difficulties easier? However - it seems like the Barbarian is very tough and apparently has some nice stun lock features?
I read somewhere that the Wiz solo'd Diablo on inferno.

One more thing - yeah it's getting very expensive upgrading those damn gems! It's now costing me like 2K to upgrade to the higher gems. Same with the blacksmith and jewel crafter.

I actually started as a Witch Doctor that I only played with my friend. I was playing a Monk on the side but eventually opted to only focus on him (beat Diablo on my WD then stopped). Now my Monk is 60 and is in Act I Inferno. Last night I created a Demon Hunter that I will be playing for a little while.

As for Wizard, I don't know. I tried one in the beta but I wasn't impressed (although more skill unlocks may change my mind when I play one eventually).

Gems get incredibly expensive to produce. I'm trying to get 10 tomes on Inferno to level mine up once more. It's taking a while, I only have 5 right now. Maybe when I get home tonight I will farm a little bit in hopes of getting the other 5, haha.

If anyone wants to party send me your battle tag id in a message here. I play on the NA servers, usually around 6 EST.

I got one shotted by a mob in middle of Act IV on Normal. I usually get a mix of stats, but I really focus on INT and exp boosts for my witch doctor since I have a posse of pets to protect me. Gold mob ambushed me with a lucky hit and I was taking a dirt nap lol.

I'm waiting for Vit gear prices to shoot through the roof as people get to higher difficulties. Lol

Yeah it's crazy how you have to change gear depending on your difficulty level. I noticed that change from normal to NM. Basically - as you go higher through the levels - you need gear specific for your class. Although everyone will seem to need +vit in the higher levels for sure.

Unless you are really good at kiting.. but even then teleport, jailer, and waller mobs will still get you.

I pretty much have to kite anything tougher than a normal baddy now in NM. There's only so much that area freeze+ diamond skin can do for a poor-ol-non-melee Wiz.

Hehe can't wait to put some hours in tonight, hopefully get some good drops.

What are barbs average DPS in Act 2 NM mode? I'm currently in Act 2 - and my wiz does 700 dmg - but I have a friend who has a barb that does only 350DPS - but his armor is like 10x more than mine, and he has like 2x more health (but also about 6-7 levels higher than me).

DPS is actually incredibly easy to increase.. I played for a long time just using what I could find and craft. Then I checked out the AH.. got some major weapon upgrades for 10k or less.

I have a barb, when I was in the mid NM stage I was at about 400-500 dam, but went up pretty fast between late Act and Act 4. When I got to act 4 I was at about 1000.

Barbs damage is hard to read though. For 1 we have a passive called brawler which increases DPS by 30% when fight a mob of 3 or larger which is when it counts most. Also as a frenzy barb you get a nice speed stack which is a hidden DPS increase, and on top of that we can use a shout to give about another 25% increase. When all that is stacked together a barb with 300 damage may be doing well over 1000 dps in battle.

As a lvl 59 Wizard myself. The thing for you to do to make NM easier is stack damage, Int and Vit only.

You should not be using any dexterity if you can avoid it. Sometimes its a necessity because a piece of equipment that will be an upgrade will have it. Make sure every piece of your equipment has at least Int on it.

Use the AH and find the highest DPS 1 handed weapon you can equip with a socket.

Upwards of around 140dps before adding a gem would do nicely. Put the highest Red gem you can make or afford, preferably square.

Use the AH, it is your best friend. You can find massive upgrades for very little gold. Use nothing but Int gems (Topaz) in all of your gear aside from helm where you wanna use Amethyst.

At 59, my damage is about 8.5k.

As for wizards specs. Arcane Orb (power glyph) is your friend. Frost nova and blow things up as a group. Also Blizzard is really powerful when you can glyph it for reduced arcane usage.

Once you hit level 55 you will become stupid powerful in Archeon mode.

What build do you use? I did a full playthrough (normal) with one and I was not overly impressed. Maybe I was doing it wrong. 😛

There is only one build, really. I got him to level 27 and vanquished Diablo. Right now I am going through the game with a level 7 Barbarian.

With my WD I emphasized a lot of minions and ranged attacks, and relied an awful lot on my acid rain.

Funny I can play the WD very well but the wizard I get killed to fast ...I dont know how to kite with him ...any advice on how to play the wiz would be help.

Kind of depends on what level you are at. When I was playing on normal - I had to use arcane ball a lot - and normally that would kill most enemies before they even got close to me.

Diamond skin is also necessary when your using the wiz - especially for the boss/champ battles.

What I did normally with lots of mobs was to let them run right up to me - surround me and I would use the area freeze (forgot exactly what it's called) then dump all the arcane balls I could on them and that would usually dispatch them all.
After the freeze effect wears off I would normally start Diamond skin so I could run away.

And if that didn't kill them all I would run and use Blizzard. After that my area freeze would be ready again and I would almost do the exact same thing over again.

Using Blizzard to slow the mobs before they get to you helps a lot in NM/Hell/inferno.

Especially when you can reduce the casting cost of Blizzard so that you can lay down 7-10 of them before your Arcane Power runs out.

Me and my friends played Titan Quest and installed a mod to make it harder. The healing lag made it hard to heal people in big battles. After 7 hours it seemed like a complete grind. Something D3 doesn't feel like after 33 hours played for me. I was a healer (considering you can build them on this game) and the delay between clicking a team mate and it healing them was too big to be any sort of fun.

Yeah, Titan Quest was definitely for its own devoted fans. But nonetheless it had a huge following even with the less than intuitive multiplayer hosting. If it had been as user friendly as D2 it likely would have had nearly as many followers. That was what I was getting at 😛. Personally I liked Titan's Quest, but not nearly as much as I liked D2 (or Torchlight 2 for that matter).

IMHO Titan Quest is every bit as good as D3. I spent close to $100 on Diablo 3 and the guide and I truly believe it was worth every penny. But the more I play it, the more I believe TQ is the better value sitting all pretty on Steam for $14.99.

I really love the ancient Greek/Roman setting for Titan Quest. I like being able to combine two different class sets for an all new, unique class and then going with a particular build off of that - the replay is unbelievable, and thousands still play it online to this day, with usually 30 or 40 games going at any given time.

I like the solo quest, as well. And the loot is fantastic.

Are you still playing the TL2 beta?

I got my invite (finally), and plan to be on later tonight. I have my own TS server and if your game for some co-op let me know. 😉
