Hi, obviously Diablo & Diablo 2 are two of my favorite games, and was wondering if there were any games like these out there that are any good. (I hate building parties etc., and pausing the game in baldurs).
Ones i have played are:
- Dark Stone (Excellent! If you haven't heard of it - get it)
- Throne of darkness (Sierra i think. Piece of the proverbial.)

Are there others?

Try Neverwinter Nights and Dungeon Siege. You don't have to build a party if you don't want to.

Neverwinter night was'nt good. I bought and then returned it because i did'nt like it.

I love that game. Like any game it's a matter of opinion. I hated UT2K3 and Unreal 2 for example.

I absolutely love Neverwinter nights. But I guess it depends on if you are a big fan of AD&D or not.

The expansion is coming out soon. Prestige classes!

Nox: avoid it like the plague. it stinks.

Divine Divinity: good game. but some of the bosses are very tough w/out the right weapon.

also try Arcanum. great game. you have multiple races to choose from and you can have a mage that uses a shotgun as a side arm. it should be on the bargain racks by now.

septerra core is another one that should be in the bargain rack. i bought when it 1st came out and i loved it, just like arcanum.

Nox doesnt stink! Well, by today's standards it might. When it was originally released, it came out a little bit before the much anticipated Diablo 2. So, for me anyways, it really helped to bridge the gap of no good adventure games since D1. It plays a bit differently and the graphics arent that great, but I thought it was an entertaining game during the time it took to play through it.

Darkstone was awesome too imo. You're the first person I've seen mention it. It's a shame the game went mostly unrecognized, because it really was a fun play.

Dungeon Siege is cool because there are no load zones. Ever. The only bad thing about that game is that the mini-map rotates 360 degrees with the main view, which makes it very difficult to navigate large areas. Never Winter Nights got a lot of things right that Dungeon Siege got wrong, including a mini-map with North always at the top, but added load times between areas. It's also a little bit slower paced game and requires a little more patience and a little more brain-power than the very-fun-but-mindless click-fests that DiabloII:LOD can deliver.

-I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobomoty.
