I loved Diablo II and spent many moons looting, exploring, leveling up, and doing it all over again. At first I was very excited about Diablo III and all news associated with it. Now, it dawns on me that this game seems a little dated in the wake of Skyrim, The Witcher 2, and other really interactive RPGs. It definately looks like an improvement on Diablo II, but is it enough? I think we are beyond just mindless slaying and hunting for treasure. Thoughts?

like i said, its a good game, and fun, but its not something i want to keep playing over and over, im sure if D4 does see the light of day in the distant future i will not stop to think and play it. we have the 2D and 3D of the style from that kind of story, be damned if they suck me in to play a 4th.

never said D2 was fresh, im talking in general in the diablo franchise. its the same old crap with a few tweaks and different characters and story. But what is new to the series will be controlled PvP that i believe they plan on adding like an arena which is cool and new. so if they keep making stuff new like that or maybe something completely different to the diablo series then i would consider a 4th or even to buy the 3rd. but i need more than just hack and slash

because it has a storyline that is carryed on through the sequel, they cant completely change the storyline just for you!

dont think you quite understood that post, i was explaining that its not new in mechanics or its the same thing slightly altered so that they don't call it the same. but at its core, it is the same, and something that is the same i believe should not cost as much as it does, hence why i look to torchlight, its $20, and very similar with the 3D environment. Also, i'd rather support the original Diablo team since they were the ones that started it all and made it happen.

Inferno is going to kick your ass. It's really hard. I know i hit a wall when i got to act 2. You really have to up your resistances, otherwise you won't be progressing very well. I'm at belial and can't beat him. Most of my friends moved on to other games so now i
'm just starting new characters until they come back and help me defeat him.

I could help you if you wanted. I've beaten Diablo on inferno. Act 2 is tough, but the real wall is act 3, though some classes really aren't built well to solo, and just need a tank to help them.

Can you give me your D3 username and number?
