Computer was working just fine. Then I had a little bit of fps drop in my game so I decided to restart. Now the computer won't even make it to bios. It just sits with blank black screen. Tried a different gpu and same problem occurs. Tried shaping ram sticks and still same issue. No idea why this is happening. No major changes to the computer other than a Nvidia driver update. I tried to clear bios but it still won't boot.

Corsair cx750m
16 gig ram
Msi 970 gaming mobo
Nvidia 960
AMD fx 8350 4ghz

No integrated gpu to test sadlyour

Edit. These parts aren't even 6 months old either

No display at all not even BIOS? Any lights on the motherboard? Error codes or anything?

Probably either the power supply or the motherboard died. Did you try a different PCI-E cable? Make sure all the modular cables are plugged in on both ends. In fact it wouldn't hurt to go through the 'No Boot" checklist in my sig.

You don't have another power supply you can test with do you? Or another PC you can test that one in? It's the most likely problem in my opinion.

Mobo lights up and everything seems to be "getting power" but yeah... no display what so ever tried different pci cable and even unplugged and re plugged everything. I don't have a back up psu to test and no spare tower to run this psu to. So I guess I'll have to take it to a shop to finish trouble shooting 🙁 I really wish I knew why this happened. I tried to go with trust worthy brands to avoid this kind of problem.

It can happen even with the highest quality stuff. Everything has a failure rate. That wouldn't be the power supply I would have put in that system but it shouldn't have been stressed at all. The good news is that it should still be under warranty.

Problem solved. It's one of my four ram sticks. Tried various combinations and every time I use the "one" in the mix or by itself the pc won't bios. But remove that stick and all is fine. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to micro center and exchanging my ram kit. Edit. When I first swapped the ram around I didn't notice I had always had the dude stick in. Zzzzz

Huh. RAM can die but it's rare. Usually if it works at first it works forever. Glad you figured it out though. :)
