Hey people,

I'm kind of a newb on PC building even if this is the 4th time I built my own but I tend to do dumb shit/ overlook simple things so help me out here.

I've been running my newly built system without problems for the last 2 weeks.
I still had a HDD lying around that stopped working on my last PC but I wanted to see if I could recover some important files that were on there so I connected it to the system.
After that my pc didn't boot. No windows/bios just a black screen but all fans running. I presumed that the HDD was faulty and somehow stopped the system from booting so removed it again. After that I got the same result so I cleared the CMOS. This time I was able to get into Bios, I selected my ssd with windows 10 as primary boot device and rebooted but nothing happened. I tried a couple of times now and also tried resetting CMOS again but now I can't even get into Bios even after I removed all sata connectors.

Trying my old HDD was obviously stupid but I didn't think it could really do damage and at first my motherboard seemed to be working still bc I was still able to get into bios. But now that that's no longer possible I'm wondering if my faulty HDD just f*cked up my mobo or SSD or maybe something else?

My hardware;

Asus Z270 tomahawk
Intel core I5-7500
8gb G-Skill TridentZ
Sapphire HD7870 Dual X
Samsung 850 evo 250gb

Old HDD: WD green 2tb

Update: Apparently there was a problem with my graphics card.. I replaced it with an older one and everything is working fine.

Now I'm wondering how this could've happened? The card is 3 to 4 years old and I use this pc pretty intensely. Would that mean it reached the end of its lifespan?
Thing is yesterday/this morning it was working fine and after changing some stuff around it just breaks?
Any ideas?
