Ok so I recently moved to college and ever sense I have been having issues with my PC freezing. So finally after a week I went and opened up my CPU monitoring software and saw it was running at 84C! I instantly crapped myself and turned off my pc, pulled it off my desk and to my surprise my CPU fan wasn't even running, in fact it was somehow unplugged! I dont know if maybe it came unpluged in my move or what but it wasn't running. I have been playing games like Gw2 over the last week and im actually quite scared to even think about the temps I was running at. My guess for why my computer was even lasting as long as it was before freezing is just do to the fact that I have good case cooling (7 Fans). So my question is do you think I damaged my CPU? I mean im on it now, seems to be running fine but I cant help but think I damaged something. 🙁

The CPU will perform thermal throttling when it reaches a dangerous temperature (i.e. self-preservation).

When transporting the system it is recommended that the CPU cooler be removed because if it ever became detached from the motherboard it can cause some severe damage to the internals of the system.
