Okay, so i've been playing around with RAID for quite sometime, and tonight i just put in a 4th Samsung 840 Pro 128GB and the results seem to look like they're worse. I wasn't expecting a big jump adding a 4th. I didn't think it would knock the first two numbers down like that either. Maybe i'm just not understanding how this really works. Thought i'd share this.

Yea there is going to be a point where SATA hits the ceiling and can't go any faster. This is why they are now using SATA Express or PCIe SSD's which bypass this bottle neck. And why have 4 SSD's in raid 0? Trying to set some new record or something? lol also it could be the RAID card. Are you using just Intel Raid or are you using a purchased add-in RAID Card like an LSI?

lol just experimenting with a very heavily modded Skyrim to decrease game load times. I'm using the onboard intel ports on a Z87 Sabertooth with a 4790K. I would like to find a way to get these numbers up if you have any suggestions. Like a raid card of some sort that would do better?

Well, i didn't find anything however i DID update my oooold 2009 RAID Driver to a new 2014 Driver. It took FOREVER to find a proper RAID driver to work with the setup i have as none of the ones ASUS provided on the Z87 motherboard page worked without any problems. Here is the result of it.

I'm sure the new SATA III cables were just a random number when i tried them but, i took them off because they were all Angled Style and i recently changed my system's case. So if anyone else out there doesn't like their numbers their RAIDs are giving them, definitely update your RAID driver like i did. I hope this helps someone else out there. Not all RAID Drivers work for that system setup. You just gotta go out there and look for one that will.

OH wow yea i would have figured with it being a newer board that it would have newer drivers that 2009! haha I'll have to keep that one in mind. But yea getting an extra 400MBps is a big difference!

How fast that sucker load?
