Building my computer I made at least two mistakes. First, didn't know that I needed all the standoffs. Second, I used one of a wrong screw to attach the motherboard to one of the standoffs. I immediately felt and saw that it was wrong, but couldn't get it out easily, so i left it. Then I discovered that the chassis came with three standoffs that weren't attached. Since the too big screw was already causing issues I thought it was best to just leave it. After building, perhaps not surprising to anyone here, the PC wouldn't boot. It turned on for a brief second, fan and lights on, then straight off. I went to the forums and discovered the importance of standoffs, and disassembled everything. Of course, the screw that was wrong didn't come out no matter how much I sweet talked it. In the end I used pliers to force it out, and ended up scratching the board around the hole (see image). I then carefully reassembled it, all the standoffs in place, proper screws and all that. I am still getting the exact same result, it turns on for a brief second, then off. I have followed the troubleshooting checklist, and have concluded that I probably broke the board, but don't want to order a new one and get the same problem if there is something I didn't check. Thoughts? Is it irreparably broken for sure?
