Just wondering did i made a misatke by installing 32 bit win 7 to:

i5 2400

gtx 560

4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram

1 tb seagate sata 3 hdd?

would i get higher fps at games if it was 64 bit?

would windows work faster at 64 bit?

if i install 64 bit right now would my files , programs stay or get deleted? Thanks.

Yes you would need to do a clean install.Install the 64 bit so that your system will utilize all the ram!

Speed is not the only factor to consider in a comparison of 32-bit and 64-bit processors. Applications such as multi-tasking, stress testing, and clustering—for HPC (high-performance computing)—may be more suited to a 64-bit OS.

its not terrible, since you only have 4 GB of RAM. But the second you want to upgrade to 8 GB you will need to install win 7 64 bit. Its better just to install the 64 bit version now.

for example right now im getting 40-50 fps from battlefield 3 at high. Lets say i installed 64bit , will there be a performance increase?

or let me say it like this: did i limit my pc's power at games?

some dude says since the win7 32 bit has 4gb limit my graphic card isnt usable 1gb , instead 512mb of it is usable. is this true? as far as i know 4gb limit was the system memory not video card memory????

No that is not true even video ram has to be mapped into that 4gig limit. So your total amount available will still be 4gig max. Right click on My Computer and left on properties you will see System just below that will be installed ram it will say how much ram your system can use. It will something like Installed XX Usable XX. You will see the usable ram less than installed on 32bit.

32 bit OS has a 4GB Limit that is applicable to ALL your memory, VGA memory, system memory, cpu cache, all of them.

There's other limits too, the 3gb to 4gb range memory address is reserved! So, even that you won't use any videocard. Your system only uses 3GB of your main memory.

Can't say if vga card have priority over main memory, but I think it's a dynamic use, where, the maximum main memory is 3GB

From my knowledge i do not believe it matters if your running 32bit or 64bit OS for your GPU's memory. I believe it only affects RAM in your system, but i wouldn't really know much since i run Vista 64, and the last OS i ran with 32bit was XP and the most i had was 2gb's of RAM with a 128mb GPU. I doubt it would though. I believe a lot of people who aren't very tech knowledgeable say the dumbest things. But who knows maybe hes right.... If so i should be ejected.

so you are saying my graphic card doesnt use its 1gb power at games?

exittoexist, u need to stop listening to that dude and go to enjoy the great card u have!

The only thing is, u could really benefit from x64 windows and use more RAM.
