Did I set up media prioritize correctly in router?

Hi everyone, I have a question on media prioritizing. We have AT&T U-Verse and the router that they give us is a black box that is a modem and a router in one. That router that they gave us does not have any type of media prioritize options, so recently I turned it into just a modem and turned off WiFi and connected my Linksys WRT AC1900.

So basically the ATT router is acting as just a modem and all traffic goes to my Linksys router that I hooked up to it. So now with WiFi turned off on the ATT router, the Linksys router handles pretty much everything.

In the Linksys router there is a media prioritize section and all I have to do is drag the devices that are connected into "High Priority" or "Normal Priority".

I dragged all of my items that I need more bandwidth into the "High Priority" section and I was wondering is this all I have to do?

I know this is kind of long but I just wanted to explain everything so you know my set up and situation.

Thanks!

That is nothing more than a pretty screen to make people feel like they are accomplishing something but it pretty much does nothing.

You can really only control the data you send to the internet so if you are uploading too much stuff it will send high priority stuff and drop low priority stuff.
The ISP is in full control of the download rates they could care less about what you think is important or not if the pipe to your house is full they will just randomly drop stuff. There is little any router can do by the time it gets involved the data is gone and it can't recreate and drop something else. Most people problems are because they have exceeded the download rate.
