Question Did i win the silicon lottery?

Hi,

I read that only 6% of 3900x's can reach 4.2Ghz. PBO gave me 4.3Ghz average. Did i win?

Without knowing where you read that I'll just assume it's one of the Silicon Lottery widely-quoted numbers for a stable, manual all-core overclock. In which case: no, you didn't win. If using terms like '4.3 AVERAGE' and 'PBO' then you're not doing a manual all-core overclock.

And until it's been tested under the same conditions Silicon Lottery does (using their Vcore voltage settings and stress test) it's not really a valid comparison.

Also in your screenshot I'm only seeing 4.23ghz, not 4.3. I'd say you have an average chip.

3900x should be able to hit 4.6GHz on one core under right settings and load.

Did some playing around and managed to get to 4.3GHz all core through bios at around 1.33-1.34V (stable)

How did you test for stability? What is your cinebench r20 score?
