Hi all,
I'm currently using 128Mb of PC133 CAS2 RAM, I'd like to add another 128 megs. I was wondering how much of a performance hit would I take if I put in CAS3 RAM instead of CAS2?

Try this link:

I personally try to match my RAM modules with the same brand/type, just to avoid the possibility of any incompatibility. But I know others don't. I don't think RAM will stay this cheap forever, so I'd go with the CAS2.

Since you have CAS2 already, you'd probably want to add in another DIMM of CAS2.

well you won't be able to get everything out of your cas2 if you add a cas3 stick. RAM sticks work at the level of the worst stick in the array. Cas2 really isn't important unless you're overclocking your Mobo though, so...it really depends on what you're doing.

good luck!
