Difference between i5-4590 and i5-4690 for gaming?

Is it worth paying the extra £30 for the 4690 or is the 4590 more than enough for gaming? I need to know as the extra £30 would really help

Near to no difference.

If you were talking about the 4690 "K" it would be a huge difference as that CPU has an unlocked multiplier (means you can overclock it.

The models you mentioned are locked and can't be modified.

And will make almost no difference at all in games. Go for the cheaper one.
