Searching up the topic, all I can find is that K CPUs are unlocked to overclock, while non-K are locked. But while looking for specifications, K CPUs have higher base clocks and turbo boost compared to their non-K counterparts. So does it mean that even if I don't plan to overclock will I get better performance on a K processor?

And if that's the case, do I need a Z motherboard to achieve this performance on a K processor? Or using a non-Z MB with a stock K processor will give me better performance already?

Solution
K CPUs will run as normal, it's base and turbo on any motherboard. Difference is only manual overclock and limited ram speed on none Z boards.
