hello am interested in buying a 2560*1080 monitor and have found that lg 29um57-p and lg 29um58-p have pretty good specs on very good price. my problem s that i cant find what is the difference between these two models. please help

Solution
i have the 58 model i just bought it has bad black color in 1/3 of the screen im returning it. its nice except for the whitish/yellow blackspot when screen is completely black booting up or in videos and stuff you try to play its very noticeable. it does 75 hz you have to make custom resolution to overclock to 75hz thats what its rated for. im getting the acer 27" 144hz 2k tn panel instead of this. im gonna see which is better right now and return one i dont like. if i keep lg im getting another monitor in replacement to get one thats got better overall black to it without defects. i can say playing call of duty black ops 3 its pretty sweet. civilization it doesnt look right . the letters are too small in game can barely read it...
the 58 cam out end of january its the successor of 57 its basicly the same monitor
only diference i could find so fare is the 58 has software menu for its setting in adition
to the hardware joystick
other thing is there are plenty of tests of the 57
but non of the 58
i expect the quality to by better or atleast at the same level as the 57 but who knows

also planing to buy the 58 maybe the 68

well unless they have change something in the last few days NOP the 58 has also 60hz (i have saw a lot of discrepancys in the specs for 1 and the same product on different side from different countrys)
i am just have it in front of me and no it doesnt have 75hz ok i am in europe and not usa but it would by stupid to bring out a monitor whit the same type number and different specs
the 68 which has displayport and 300cd brightnes can do 75hz BUT just over displayport not over hdmi
the resolution of the monitor is so or so slightly outside of the 1.4 hdmi specs (21:9 support is hdmi 2.0) so i wouldnt be even sure if you can have 75hz over hdmi 1.4 whit this resolution at all
here the german specs for 29um58-p

I am typing on the 58 with this reply. Using 75hz over HDMI (the only inputs possible) and tested with the ufo test with a perfect 5 boxes on my camera. It really does 75hz. The 58 also has calibration from the factory which I don't think the 57 has. The colors beat the crap out of my HP 22BW which is a very good monitor imo.

Sadly, it does have a little backlight bleed in the left side on both top and bottom. I can live with it as the colors are just so dang good. Overall, after downloading 'Flawless Widescreen' and enabling it in Shadows of Mordor along with the 21:9 netflix chrome addon, this monitor is amazing. Definitely worth a try.

Mystery concerning refresh rate solved (by downloading the Owners Manual and reading @page 27):

It's relevant to a given resolution.The 75Hz are supported only when resolution is set @640x480 , 800x600 , 1024x768 , 1152x864 and finally @1280x1024. @maximum supported resolution 2560x1080 the refresh rate is (rather unfortunately) adjusted @60Hz.
Apart from this it seems to be a superb monitor.

Cheers,
Nick.
