Hello, I need help in explaining the characteristics of my two monitors:
1. Samsung SyncMaster S23A350H connected using VGA
Specs: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/m...50HS/ZA-specs#
and
2. LG 22en33 connected using DVI
Specs: http://www.pcglobal-lb.com/index.php...&product_id=57

Both are connected to the same computer.
LG is brighter and I can't reduce the brightness, it does bother me from the first day I purchased it.
Samsung has a smoother and sharper image, especially when playing games or videos, although the colors are a little dimmer but it's alright.
My question is, why?
Is it the response time or the contrast ratio? The samsung is an older monitor but just by playing the same video on both monitors I see a difference, I'm leaning towards the samsung and making it my primary.
Thank you in advance.

Yes, different contrast settings may influence brightness. Have you calibrated your monitors already?

I did. First thing I did when I plugged them in.
