Hi everyone. Im new here to TomsHW. I read over the memory FAQ. what I needed might have been in there but I didnt fully understand so Im creating this thread and hopefully I can get a quick response 😀

To sum it up short and sweet, Im trying to figure out the difference between same speed memory.

For example there is DDR3 1333 memory but there are 3 different types of DDR3 1333. the difference is what follows which would be (PC 10600) (PC 10660) and (PC 10666). Not really sure what the differences is besides the numbers being different. can someone please clarify what these number meen?

Much appriciated everybody. :hello:

thanks for the info. I hate marketing gimicks. It makes it very hard to decide on RAM nowadays. researching on newegg you need to go through all the theoretical speeds and compare... not fun. This is kind of irrelivent now though as Ive decided to do with 1600 speed ram so its rather easy to compare RAM not to mention fast 😀 allthough in the future Ill take what you say to heart as I know now what the pcx-xxxx meens. Thanks a bunch! 😍

to make a fun comment I love how manufacturers and distributers add the dual/quad/hexa channel kit naming conventions. Buy in bulk is always good. 😀 In regards to that Im assuming unless the mobo scematics says otherwise 2kits of dual channel mem will always equal out to one kit of quad channel mem. and so on....
