I would like to know the difference between the 2 cards. I've read other forums but haven't really gotten a clear answer. All I know is that the X comes OC out of the box whereas the other doesn't. But you can OC it yourself to the same performance as the X? I want a clear comparison between the 2 as best as possible please. Thanks in advance!

in the past, there was actually a small difference between the cards but not this time around.
people will insist that the gaming x is still better and repeat old wives tales of "binning" chips and such but the reality is that the extra money nets no real world performance gains for the pascal cards. people still won't accept this reality and are sticking to the facts of older cards where overclocking or the higher end models really did make a difference.
do yourself a favor and save some cash you can spend elsewhere

basically they are the same card with different clock speeds out of the box, the gaming card can easily be oc'ed to match the gaming x. same cooler so won't be any different on cooling/noise

So how did the GTX1060 OC (non-gaming X) end up working out? I am seeing that all of the above answers are correct, and that the Gaming X has 2 additional DisplayPorts as well as a black/red finish instead of white/red, but other than that, did you finagle the rest out of the non-gaming X?
