Anyone know? They appear to be about the same, but I can find the L3360 much cheaper. Actually I can find it cheaper than the Q9550 also. Just wondering if anyone had a clue. Thanks.

They are the same chip with different branding. Same socket, clock speed, FSB speed, cache, and TDP. Not surprisingly, Intel's product finder shows both at the same price ($369.00).

Yeah, You can find it in the $250-$260 USD range if you do a little searching though. I might pick one of these up instead of the regular Q9550.

I picked one up and it works extremely well in an Asus P5E mb with 1201 version bios. I added an Arctic Freezer fan, but it never gets out of low speed even with the most demanding loads. Also, I'm running it at 3.4G instead of 2.83G. It still runs very cool. It likely would be easy to push to 4G on air.

As far as the differences between the L3360 and the Q9550s, the only option difference is the L3360 does not have Trusted Execution Technology enabled. Don't go by specs you find on the internet, they are all over the place. I got this from Intel's website, but had to search for a long time to find it.
