Question Difference between two pci-e 6 pin male to sata cables

Hello. I need another pci-e 6 pin power cable for hdd drives because my current one supports only 3 devices. I detach it and noticed that the empty pin slot is on different position, compared to the cable I want to buy(mine is the one below). Do you think it matters or I simply can remove the old one and put the new one?

That is not PCIE 6pin to sata cable. There's no such thing BTW.
PCIE cable provides only 12V and ground. Sata connector needs 5V and 12V and can also have 3.3V.
That's why such adapter doesn't exist.

That is modular PSU cable with proprietary 6pin connector on one end and sata connectors on the other end.
Note - modular psu cables are not compatible between different PSU models.
Using wrong modular cables can damage/kill hardware connected.

i'm sorry for the wrong naming. My psu is thermaltake smart se 530w. But i don't have another modular cable

Does your PSU have any molex cables?
You can use molex to sata adapter to connect extra sata drives.

i don't know. Will search for the box. Meanwhile found this online but my psu model is not in the list, so don't know if its suitable and how the pins looks

If it's not listed, then it's not compatible.

You could probably rewire the cable, to make it compatible. A multimeter would be necessary for this.
But if you rewire the cable wrong, you'll kill your connected sata drives.

In the box I've found the same cable, again supporting only 3 devices. I know the psu is outdated. So, i will attach the new cable and will connect my new hdd to it

That's the most sensible way to solve this.
