Hi

I am planning to buy the Asus Prime H610M-E D4 motherboard and noticed something funny/weird in the youtube videos that I watched.

Could someone please tell why there seems to be a difference in components used in the actual motherboard as opposed to what is shown on the box image in the following videos?

now this review seems to have the same components on the actual motherboard and the image on the box

Probably as a result of a revision. Same model motherboards can be revision 1.0, rev 1.1, rev 1.2, etc.

Can i please ask why you are considering an awful H610 motherboard? Motherboards with that chipset are cheaply made and very bad.

If for a little bit more money you can buy a more reliable motherboard, do that.
Look at B660, B760 and z690 motherboards and see if you can afford one of those.

makes sense, thank you. However, do revisions affect performance of the boards?

Also, you'd think that they would label the boxes like Gigabyte does, but I guess not.

Reason I am getting the H610 is because I am on a very tight budget and a basic B660/B70 in my country costs almost x1.5 times than a decent H610.. and based on my research a basic B760 such as the MSI Pro B760M-E DDR4 is not any better than H610 in terms of performance.. the only benefit is added features which really is not a requirement for me.

I think revisions affect manufacturing cost, or they fix mistakes discovered since lanuch. Also, a higher revision motherboard will certainly have a more recent BIOS but that isn't usually important.

I am not sure if those different ASUS boards are revisions. If they are, maybe ASUS doesn't want to make things more confusing for customers?
