Difference ( SATA 6gb/s & 3gb/s)

im planning to get this motherboard

Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H

i chose this coz this is the cheapest mobo that hit my budget,and also i need more sata ports
now my question is . . .

what is the difference between this 6gb/s and 3gb/s sata ports?
are there any special sata cables i need or i just hook up all 6 hdds here?

im just curious..
