I have altogether 4 ram slots in my motherboard, two of them of blue color and the other two with black color so i experimented with it and placed my 2 ram slots in the black ones and guess what my pc failed to even boot. A red light was also up in my motherboard but then i reinstalled the ram in the blue ones and the pc booted just fine so my question is why this happened.

Any Ideas?

Its either that or some boards are picky about which slots are to be used if only 2 sticks are used. My board wont post if I use the non colored (secondary) slots however I can use those slots if the other 2 have sticks in. Check your board specs to be sure.

The color corresponds to channels. With 2 you want to use the same color.

It has nothing to do with frequency, the cpu/chipset is compatible with it's specs and a different slot isn't going to change that. Although some mobos will have ddr2 and ddr3 slots, the ram would obviously not fit in the wrong version.

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7P55_LX/ He posted this in another thread so I am assuming this. I would have said it may want ram in slot 1 but he's saying it's working in slots 2 and 4. It could be a bad slot, bent cpu pin, or you may just need to reset cmos when changing slots.
