Hi, I don't know the difference between these types of cases. Please explain to me

MicroATX Towers vs ATX Towers
HTPC vs miniITX
miniITX Tower vs miniITX Desktop
What is an "ATX Desktop and a "MicroATX Desktop"

Solution
Desktop (and generally HTPC) cases lay flat/horizontal across a desktop. The motherboard lays parallel to the desktop. Towers stand upright. The motherboard is perpendicular to the desktop.

The four on the left are towers. The two on the right are desktops.

Form-factors pertain to the type of motherboards they will accept.

Mini-ITX - Small. Usually only one or two expansion slots.
Micro-ATX - Average size. Three or four expansion slots.
ATX - Large. Seven or more expansion slots.

Solution
mini ITX, mATX aka Micro ATX, ATX are types of motherboards. The first is the smallest, the last the biggest (between the 3 of the, not all motherboards). The bigger the motherboard, the bigger the case. Now cases have different types: HTPC is like a drawer, tower is like, well a tower :-D . Desktop is a general way to refere to a computer that is positioned on the desk, hence desktop. That said desktop is also used to refer to non mobile computers, no matter were they are positioned (carpet/floor or on the desk) Hope this helps.
