Different kind of network printer issue

Hello all I bought and installed a cannon maxify mb2720 network printer. I have it wired through a 8 port switch and then to my frontier fios router. I got everything to work perfectly on the lan side. All computers see it and it works great. The problem is that it can't access the internet. So I can't register it with Google cloud print or any of the other compatible cloud printing services. I have tried giving the printer a static and dynamic ip. Everything works on the lan just can't get out to the wan. Please advise.

Only what comes with the basic FIOS router. its set to reject all incoming packets and allow all out going packets. So the printer should be able to get out to the internet. I also confirmed that there were no blocks on any devices on my network.

The printer should have a static IP as I understand your network.

If its' IP keeps changing (DHCP) then the other network devices will not know its' address.

Set the printer up with a static IP that is outside of the DHCP IP address range established on the router and with that static IP reserved for the printer via the printer's MAC.

Then set up any necessary port forwarding with respect to the printer's internet requirements.

Try ping, pathping, and tracert from one of your internet connected computers to Google Cloudprint.

May help identify some issue along the path(s).
