So i recently built 2 pc with eveything similar except 2 different motherboards one being a gigabyte z97 d3h and other z97x gaming g1 wifi bk. One thing i noticed is tat the stress test temp on the z97x gaming g1 wifi bk is higher than that of the z97 d3h. Is there a reason for this? the z97 d3h runs at 58~ while the z97x gaming g1 wifi bk runs at 70

Solution
Yes , search for 'silicon lottery' using google. the same goes for intel k series too. all are capable of giving good OCs but some are able to do it higher than others.

this is the same for all GPUs too

Its the CPUs even if you buy the same CPU every single one is different. That's why people buy a whole bunch, and "bin" them. Then sell the chips that run really well for a high mark up. This is done to sell to people who want to OC competitively.

what chip is it? if its a 4x90k than thats bad. if its a 4x70k it could just be the nature of the TIM in the first release of haswell, but thats still a bad temp.....
