So I have recently upgraded my system from a core i5-2320 with 8GBs of DDR3 RAM (2x4 dimms) running at 1333mhz to an AMD FX-6300 with 16GBs of RAM (2x8 dimms) that advertises to run at 1600mhz and displays that speed in BIOS but whenever I boot up to windows and check the speed it says 800mhz in both task manager and cpu-z.
My main problem is that the games I used to run with mostly very playable performances now run a lot slower,whilst still being somewhat playable but not what I expect from my new system
The main game I'm facing problems with is Destiny 2 which ran at 70-90FPS on my old system and now runs at 40-55FPS.
I checked for overheating on both my gpu (R9 270x) and cpu (FX-6300) but none were facing thermal issues since they were both running at max 70.1 degrees celsius.
So far I have tried almost everything I saw on the internet regarding this problem, the list of stuff I tried;
Switching RAM slots, using only one dimm, switching channel timings in BIOS (now at 9-9-9-24, tried 27 but same issue), setting the voltage from "auto" to 1.500V in BIOS, re-seating the cpu and ram, driver updates for the motherboard, clean install of windows 10 and 7, tried some windows trobuleshooting, using both dimms without the dual-channel feature and in different slots.

Here are my full PC specs;
M/B - Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
CPU - AMD FX-6300
GPU - AMD Radeon R9 270X
RAM - 16GB Total, 1st dimm - Corsair CMV8GX3M1A160 (1600Mhz), 2nd dimm - Patriot Viper 8GB (1600Mhz, was part of a 2x8 kit but this is what I could afford)
PSU - Chieftec GPS-55-AB A (550W)

i5 2320 to FX 6300 is not really any upgrade

ddr mean double data rate. 800x2 is 1600
thanks for the info, i just switched to my old system and im getting a similar result on userbenchmark (1% difference), but now windows says my ram is running at 1333mhz (each dimm is 4gb at 1333mhz) and when i tried a single dimm from the new system i got it said 1600mhz and it ran a bit faster than my 1333mhz ram

edit; used both dimms and somehow my system booted normally but ram was running at 1333mhz (both dimms) but the system performed a lot better in games and around 5-7% better in the userbenchmark
