Dimond 1950 AGP, GOT ONE

I was cruzin newegg last week and the Diamond ATI 1950 w/512 AGP popped up and I snagged it. and installed it last night. Just to answer the naysayers , let me say this.... WOW. I'm a gamer and I have been running a 3.0 Pentium with a 6800 NVIDIA. I run WOW, Battlefield 1 &2 and black and white. I own a copy of Oblivion but alas the old system just didn't have what it took to run it smoothly , even with the graphics dumbed down.
I Aquamarked the system prior to install with a score of 36,150. Post install WOW and Battlefield maxed out run smoothly. Oblivion runs good with middle of the road graphic settings. and Aquamark scores a 58,967

I'm a happy camper and will now wait till the AMD Intel race settles out a bit.

The question I have is the day after I ordered this I went back to newegg and the card was no where to be seen.... not back ordered , simply not there. the same with tiger direct. Anyone know what's going on??

I hate to say this, but your new Aquamark score is not all that impressive. I am thinking of buying an X1950 PRO AGP myself but if what you say is true then I am not sure.

I currently have a P4 at 3.0 GHz and eGeForce 6800 Ultra AGP and my system's Aquamark 3 score is the same as yours with X1950 PRO AGP.

Things get sold out. Newegg will now sell Powercolor X1950 PRO AGP which is expected to be in stock on January 12.

EDIT: No, wait... my Aquamark 3 score is 64,216 ...
 
Well more power to ya buddy, but if you dont think a 65% increase is very good , Im not sure you can be pleased. If your auqamark score is in the high 50's with the older stuff what makes you think it wont be better you ?
 
Whoa, hey, it was an expression of good will. Aquamark scores, well, I guess I need to do mine and see where I'm at. Its good that the newer games run well, do you have any older ones? Like Alien vs Pedator, Dungeon Keeper 2, Thief the Dark Project, Draken? How do those run?

lol yea I guess it was harsh..... note to self , "Do not interact with outside world untill the second cup of coffee"

The old stuff for me are the early flight sims such as chuck yeager... and UO and the like. but thoes ran well on an old 286 machine that ran windows 3.1.
 
An I/O error. corrupt installation file, when installing Aquamark.
The new version of 3D Marks 05 (v130) does the same also.
I can install v120 with no problems.

Both programs run fine from the other computer.
 
now that is wierd. I was getting a different error with aquamark. But that was after the benchmark installed and even ran..till it came to letting me know what the socre was, then it used to crash.

I got it fixed by just adding a fix dll file into the aquamark folder. Dunno what the problem is on ur side though.
 
ah kool you got it running.

Yeah i didnt think my 7800GS extreme was much of an improvement over my older 9800 pro to be honest. It was good...dont get me wrong, but not worth the £200 price tag.

So i sold it for 160 after about 4 months of use and bought the x1950 for 150 :lol:
