Trying to make a direct parallel cable connection from a
Windows NT 4.0 (SP6) host to a Windows XP client. A
Parallel Direct Connection Cable has been connected to
each LPT1 port. The host drives have been shared. Each
machine has been made a member of a Workgroup of the same
name. Network Connection objects hae been created on the
client side.

Connection attempts usually return Error #777 or #628.

Sounds like DUN errors. Network computers don't usually "connect"
together like this. What are you trying to do? With an LPT connection
the pc's must be literally next to one another. Are you trying to just
transfer files for a one time event or do you intend to make this LPT1
network work? I can't say... did you try using an Eternet card? Or
slaving the transfer drive?
