Hello,

Since we know minimum requirements in order to activate and use DirectStorage are an Nvme ssd 1tb + pcie 3.0 + compatible direct x 12 ultimate gpu... I'm wondering if anyone know's or can explain to me the direct x 12 Ultimate feature. RTX 2000+3000 are hardware level compatible ones but 1080 ti (i own it) i've been reading it's not but it's compatible via software level.

The question here is if DirectStorage only will be compatible and functional under hardware level compatibility or my 1080ti could benefit, too?

Thank you all.

Solution
Currently, yes, DirectStorage will require an RTX 2000 (or higher) series NVIDIA GPU or an RX 6000 (or higher) series AMD GPU.
Also, note that DirectStorage needs to be implemented at the game design level. It does nothing for games that have already been released, or for future games that aren't specifically designed to take advantage of it.

So, for now, there's no benefit. For the future, well, we'll see...

Oh i didn't know that part about the game implementation. Interesting... Quite pointless right now. Thanks for the info!
