Directx 10 on directx 9 card

I have an older gpu that runs directx 9 still does great btw, but i am wondering if there is a way to run a directx 10 game on it. I dont know if its possible but im hoping that it is, any help would be great, thanks!

If a game is DX10 (or greater) only, then no, it won't /can't run on a DX9 card. Any game would need to support DX9 to run on a card that maxes out with DX9 support.

I have a laptop that has a gtx 260m, i know taht its supposed to be directx 10 but for some reason when I try to open a directx 10 game it says that my card is a directx 9, also it says that its directx 9 in gpu z too. it has all updated driver too.
