Directx 9 games and Windows 10

I know Win 10 has directx 12 pre installed but a lot of my games (LOL and FFXIV) need 9 and wont run. i attempted to install 9 from the Microsoft website but no dice. Is there anyway to get them working or to install Directx 9 on my Win 10 comp?

From what I've read, the DirectX 9 full package is not compatible with Windows 10, but some of it's component runtime files are.

So update: After much digging turns out the only way to get DirectX 9 and/or 11 is to download and install them on a Win 7 or 8 OS then upgrade to Win 10 so that the files carry over. Other than that you'll just have to wait until your favorite games get updated and patched for DirectX 12.

umm no all you have to do is download the latest Microsoft direct x Runtime distributables if for some reason none of your DX9 games wont run cause windows 10 is fully backwards compatible with them

Look through you old games. Most of them have a redistributables folder that includes DirectX9. Install it from there. I used my copy of Fallout New Vegas.
