"We're not for sale because no one has made an offer, yet."

Depending on the details, AMD shouldn't brush-off a potential sale. They could definitely use more cash to help their business, that $1.2billion Intel paid them off with recently only went towards debt. Although, I don't know what Oracle does with "silicon", but they just purchased Sun a while back, and they must get those Sparc processors from somewhere.

"AMD is not for sale, but we are happy to listen to any proposal which is in the interest to our shareholders,"

Isn't this what Palm said a bit before HP bought them out?

Also, is it just me or does it look like the girl second from the left has really saggy boobs?

AMD has been a tried a true CPU maker for me for many years I would hope they would stay they are, There doing a good job, and companies that make good products are hard to find.

Good products are not hard to find, good products from good companies are hard to find haha

as the companies are usually what turn people away and not the products

1. Every publicly traded company must do what is best for stockholders. Everything has a price, everything.
2. Those are known as "Natural". Your online porn escapades will likely contain few of these.

They look kind of large and gravity does work so...

This is the second add I've seen where people think geeks have poor taste or bad eyes. Why does a guy have to like automobiles to have good taste & eyes? It's biased & bogus!

Those are called ear muffs. 😉

AMD will never sell....I hope. They may not have the majority of the market but they have a big enough piece of pie. I would tell Oracle $25 Billion if they wanted to even sit down. May take awhile to recoup, but hey everything comes with a cost. JMO

I was thinking she was the only one in that photo with any to speak of period.

[citation][nom]Darkerson[/nom]I so hope oracle doesn't buy them. That really would be the nail in the coffin for AMD.[/citation]

Do you wish to qualify that statement? How would all that extra money for R&D would "a nail in the coffin for AMD"? AMD has limited resources and are trying to compete against Intel who has unlimited resources, lots of designers and Intel's fabs are the most advanced in the world. AMD needs every bit of help it can get.

I can;t see how buying out Nvidia is going to help Oracle unless they really want to move into the GPGPU sector and as for the discrete consumer video card market is a declining market not an expanding one.

Four years ago ATI CEO Dave Orton had a similar stance against an acquisition before AMD assimilated the GPU manufacturer for $5.4 billion in July 2006.
Well, I only hope that this time it is fully true, for I don't want to see a Intel monopolized CPU market. The prices would stay constant forever if AMD vanishes.
