[citation][nom]mavanhel[/nom]Also, is it just me or does it look like the girl second from the left has really saggy boobs?[/citation] Ok, if that's a problem for you leave her to me... dam she's the best looking one there and as others have said, they're big fake ones would stand up so her's could be real so I like!

[citation][nom]JeanLuc[/nom]Do you wish to qualify that statement? How would all that extra money for R&D would "a nail in the coffin for AMD"? AMD has limited resources and are trying to compete against Intel who has unlimited resources, lots of designers and Intel's fabs are the most advanced in the world. AMD needs every bit of help it can get.I can;t see how buying out Nvidia is going to help Oracle unless they really want to move into the GPGPU sector and as for the discrete consumer video card market is a declining market not an expanding one.[/citation]
Oracle is just horrible, thats why. Sure they may have a ton of money, but that isnt everything. Theyd pick AMD apart and all that would be left is a shell of its former self. And thats assuming they wouldnt just tank it completely after they were done getting what they wanted...

Oracle owning AMD, would be the worst thing that could happen to AMD, there would be 0 innovation coming out of the company if that were to happen.

Oracle is like the Ivan Drago of Corporations, "Everything it touches it destroys!"

This doesn't rule out a hostile take over, a great match for AMD would be IBM. IBM is an innovative company and with their capitalization and technology especially when it comes die shrinks and SOI, would be a company that could take on Intel for real. If I were IBM any move by Oracle, and I'd be all over of AMD.

I've been purchasing Intel chips at reasonable prices thanks to AMD. I really hope they stick around.

Im with acadia11, IBM should buy them out. Then intel would really be sweating bullets. IBM are alot bigger than Intel, and have ALOT more money. It would make more sense, since they are allready parteners.(IBM+AMD) Well maybe Oracle is a partener as well, I don't really know and could care less. Just as long as the competion continues and it results in lower prices for us all. :)

Back in the late 90s when I worked for IBM I hoped they would buy AMD and give Intel a run for its money. But shortly after I quit in 2002 they abondoned the consumer market and then later the corporate desktop market completely and sold out those divisions to Lenovo. Soon banks, schools, and supermarkets were no longer littered with IBM hardware.

It still makes sense to me as IBM purchases Opterons for data centers and supercomputers, but I cannot see a comeback to the desktop market.

When OS/2 Warp and IBM's proprietary micro-channel hardware didn't catch on, IBM started building their own Windows clones to compete with the cheaper standardized Windows based PCs. Then IBM saw Dell starting to gain big market share and bastardizing margins (by selling cheap PCs by mail order, and building the first all-in-one non-modular laptops - which are the norm today) back in 98-99 we figured they would just give up and they did.

It's ironic now that Apple now makes a fortune with closed machines, their own OS and massive margins. IBM may have been just ahead of its time with its own desktops.

Oracle buying AMD is something I hope does not happen. Sure they would benefit by the cash and backing, but I don't think Oracle has any interest in small products like a desktop PC or laptop. AMD chips would probably just end up being for cloud machine useage and Intel would end up the only game in town IMO.

You guys never considered that Oracle could use AMD products to run their products. It would be win win for the company. AMD would be driven to become a better product to beat Intel so that Oracle can sell more products and beat out their competitors. AMD would likely be pushed to make better products rather then ben eaten up.

IBM is a much bigger company than Intel already. If they were so inclined, they could probably just buy up Intel rather than take them on.

[citation][nom]Zingam[/nom]I am healthy normal male who is highly interested in technology and science but I do get offended by images like the one on the top. No I'm not moralist I watch porn. I do get offended by such cheap trick to lure the teenage nerds. High tech and naked girls do not work together. Naked chicks and fake boobs are for the brainless people, interested in hotrods, sports cars and other crap like that. They are for people with basic education and big fat wives and not about intelligent people!Damn how cheap and stupid the world has become lately![/citation]

Hello Mr. Stereotype! Welcome to the normal world were technology isn't everything. I understand how hot women and technology don't go together very well, and I can see being a little offended is alright. But then calling everyone who is interested in hot girls, sports cars, and the other things that you have mentioned as brainless? Are you sure about that? Wow you sir are quite judgemental. I happen to like to see beautiful women and I do like nice looking cars, does that make me brainless? According to you it does.. You've got to be the biggest nerd (not geek, yea there's a difference) to say something like that, it's rather pathetic.

[citation][nom]Zingam[/nom]No actually commercials with hot girls are for nerds that cannot get any real girls.... And me nerd? I'm anything but nerd I'm just grown up.And yes tities on posters are for truck drivers[/citation]

Ya grown up enough to troll tech forums/articles, instead of keeping your personal opinions to yourself and just comment on the article. lol, real mature and grown up that is.

PS. That's the only troll feeding I will do today. lol.
