Well, well dx9 would choke up if it would try to make same effects as dx11 version, but it does not chance the thing that differenses are hard to notice. Is dx9 good enough? Well it's not near enough to reality. DX11 has more muscle to do that, but we need even more power than that. The ability to create more details via tessalation with dx11 is a good thing. 5870 is fast enough to run the game in dx9 or dx11 mode, why not use dx11 even the difference is not so important in fast pasing rasing game.
It will take time (again) to developers to really crasp all the benefits of dx11. Adding a feature just for adding the fealture is not a sure way of making the game better, they have to learn what improvements does count the effort!

[citation][nom]cappster[/nom]I would like to see dx9 vs dx10 vs dx11 photos. I've seen one photo that was dx9 vs dx11, but I would like to see all three since I have dx10 videocards.[/citation]

This benchmark does exactly that. The improvements over DX9 and even over DX10 is pretty obvious when you run this software. The visuals are stunning.

This website has the working video clip of the tech demo and pictures for comparing with or without DX11.

The effect for the flags are cool... but I won't be surprised that new extras will slow the game down in some degree.

Uhm...Dirt 2 came out today...It had a release date for December 3rd...today...Same day as this article claiming it has not been released yet..I already picked it up from gamestop

I still don't even use DX10, it slows down games way too much. I think M$ went a bit overboard with that one and should have stuck with DX9 until the hardware industry caught up and prices moved down on mid to high range DX10 graphics cards. So now we have DX10.1 and DX11 graphics cards out, big deal. As long as it doesn't say Nvidia on it I know absolutely NO ONE who spends money on that stuff.

The game is fun and probably the best of its kind for a PC ( Forza for consoles atm.. ) and visually its just gorgeous I have to admit. if you have a 360 controller ofc is preconfigured like mostly all games anymore and it belongs in the GFWLive list now. Without DX11 and with DX10 it feels and to the naked eye it almost looks the same simply cause without DX11 the game is graphically great I guess.

Just a heads up for ppl that were thinking to buy a racing game. Go for it. Its really worth it. And that comes from a guy that doesnt like racing games..
