Disable a SATA port in the BIOS

If I install my backup drive (HDD or SSD) on a SATA port 2 on mainboard

Then I disable a SATA port 2 in the BIOS.

I would like to know is the drive still have power on it ?
(Is it the same as I manually unplug the power cable from the drive?)

*the reason is I want to prolong life my backup drive!

Try it. Don't mount the drive, do what you gotta do, then pick up the drive with your hand, no power=no spin=no vibration.
