My system has an integrated GPU and discrete GPU. The discrete GPU (AMD) stopped working but the integrated works (Intel). Disabling drivers in windows the system works but after updates the OS tries to install the discrete GPU again.

Is it possible to disable from the mainboard the integrated GPU "disconnecting" the power source with soldering? can I just unsolder the GPU from the mainboard?

Too bad i dont remmeber anymore since this was 2 years ago :/

I remember it was very easy, try remove PU320 only first. i always used hot air but it could be possible to either cut the legs (VERY CAREFULLY) or just soldering iron : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHMmG3NuM9U

Although there is alot of small components nearby you need to be careful., Do you have something to cut the legs ? ( dont have schematic for this pu320 since i lost my account to bad caps cant see pictures, idk if there is pin below it also)

Thanks. The user Highpulse in that forum says: "if you kill the main line , it will disapear" but I don't understand the comment. Can you please explain a little how you did it.

Basically i have no idea about your skill level. Make account in bad caps forum so you can see pictures in that thread.

Have you removed caps or resistors from any motherboard before with hot air or ir?

If I understand correctly I've to (1) remove the mosfet

(2) solder (join) two resistors and (3) unsolder (unjoin) the other two resistors.

Is that correct?

Thanks!
