So i just bought a new laptop with 2 ssd's (512 gb) in raid 0, i also bought a 2tb nvme ssd. I would like to replace one of the 512 gb ssd with the 2 tb ssd. To my knowledge i first have to disable raid 0 before changing the ssd. This will probably delete all data including windows. So im still kinda a noob at this and would like to know what my steps are doing this as safe and easy as possible.

Solution
Turning it off is easy. Change the Sata Mode to something other then raid/iRST in the bios. What options do you have? Achi and ?
As long as you don't save your changes you can see whats available and not hurt anything :)

When yo do that, you will lose access to anything on those drives so be sure to have backed up & prepared yourself for booting up from your install or recovery media.

If you are planning to fresh install Windows - Download all your laptops drivers before you begin. You can make a folder on the windows install USB and put them in there. It's so much easier when you have them all handy.
If the manufactor have setup the windows installation when those ssd in raid0, then you'll loose all data when replacing either of the ssd's.
Then you'll have to install windows over again.

Thank you for answering but but how do i disable the raid 0? I know i have to do someting in the bios but im not really sure what.
Its btw a MSI GS75 with 2X 512 gb raid 0

According to MSI, that model has a single NVME 512GB drive; so all you need to do is replace it with the new one and then install windows - either a fresh installation, from your recovery media that you made (hopefully), or from your most recent backup.

As you'll see, you need the 091 variant to have raided drives.
ow im sorry i must have linked the wrong model but i do in fact have 2 512 gb ssd's i raid 0. In the manual i can only find how to turn on a raid and not how to turn it off.

Thanks for helping me, i have the options AHCI and intel RTS premium with intel Optane system acceleration( which is enabled). If i would change this to AHCI, would this disable the raid. Also what kind of software would you recomend me to use to create a recovery media.
