I am using a 1090T with a Gigabyte 880GM-USB3, while cool & quiet is turned on through the bios a random frame-rate drop happens in several games(like Mafia II, Driver San Francisco etc but not in crysis 3, far cry 3...), so I turned it off in BIOS and the CPU clock remains @ 3.21GHz at all time, even if the cpu is in idle mode, my question is, Is it safe for the cpu in term of lifespan? or always running at this clock will affect the cpu life or performance.... Please help and thanks in advance.

Solution
as long as the cpu isnt under full load 24/7 or running hot then turning off cool n quiet will not shorten its life span to the point turning it off maybe a bad idea. With it disabled it runs all cores at the full clock speed but does not stress the cpu while doing so unless u put the cpu under load of course

cool n quiet was more of a power saving feature so when ur web browsing or something that will not use all cores and their default speed its more efficient power wise. my 1055t with CnQ disabled runs as a 133watt cpu with OC, and with it enabled at idle is like 88watts.

Thanks for the reply, but as I said before enabling cool & quiet makes random frame rate drop in several games, any solution to that??

Problem Solved!!!! all of the problems were there because of the Heat sink, I got a lot of blue screen error and I looked into the heat sink, there was too much dust and covered the surface, that's why air could not reach the cpu.... I cleaned the Heat Sink and the CPU is running like butter.

It won't hurt the CPU lifespan, it's rated at 3.2GHz I'm guessing, so that's what it's designed to run at. Before Cool and Quiet, that's how they all ran! If you're running a really aggressive OC, then *maybe*, after years.
