I have an ASUS p4p800e-Deluxe Mobo running a p4 3.2 Prescott. After I turn the computer on and it runs for about 20 minutes, my CDRW and DVDRW on the secondary IDE disappear. If I restart, the drives are not recognized in the BIOS Post, but the drives are getting power (I can open the drive drives, the light comes on, etc.) If I wait 30-60 minutes and restart again, the drives show up, but only for about 20 minutes. Anybody ever heard of this or know how to fix it?

It sounds like something is failing when it gets warm. It could be the controller on one of those two drives, it could be the chipset southbridge...

I'd try disconnecting one of the drives and see if the problem persists. Then I'd try using the other drive alone as well. If the problem persist with both drives singly, it's probably the chipset.
