Disk Boot Failure after HDD Wipe

So starting last week, my computer started getting a blue screen. So yesterday it was so bad to the point where it wouldn't load windows at all. So I ran Ultimate Boot CD and it diagnosed the HDD was messed up. So I wiped it clean using Dban and now I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 Professional but whenever I put the disc in and restart the rig I get a "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" Any ideas?

Oh and if it helps, the rig is only like 6 months old. I did some reading and the only lead I have is to format the HDD and try again. I am also just realizing that I'm a dumbass and should have done system recovery, but too late now.

Any advice? Thanks ahead of time.

3.73gb is the formatted size--that should be fine

seems to be a student upgrade iso?

This might be a little confusing, but did you burn the .iso to the disk or did you burn an image to disk from the .iso?

Alright, well I tried to boot from a USB and it just says "Boot from CD/DVD:" and then nothing.

I downloaded the Windows 7 iso.exe file. I was actually confused what to do with it, so I ran it and told it to save the iso to the disc. Now that I think about it, that's probably not the right thing to do. I should probably take that ISO I got from the exe file and actually burn it to the disc right? The only problem is, that file is like 2gb big, whereas my discs are only 700MB...so what should I do? Go find discs that can hold that much in hope that it works after that?

you need to make your usb flash drive bootable using wintoflash or similar

you cant just copy the iso you need to either extract it or burn it in nero or similar as an image file

where did your iso come from? as this forum has rules against pirated copies

and yes its too big for a cd you need a dvd

My ISO came from the .exe file of which Microsoft gave me. The name of the .exe file is "DLMWin7Pro64US-ISO"

I did manage to download that ISO file to my computer, so I just gotta head out to the store, buy a DVD-RW, and burn it right?

Oh and I know I need to burn it as an image file, I just kinda assumed that the .exe did that for me, guess not :D

if you have a 4gb or larger flash drive you can load it from there you just need to make the flash drive bootable

if not a dvd burner will do

though i am still a little confused as to what files you have--did you use digital river download manager or similar? that would explain why you say exe and iso

EDIT: Nevermind about trying it with a flash drive...mine is only 3.73gb
Yes, it's using digital river to download the ISO file.

Programs I have:

DLMWin7Pro64US-ISO.exe
DLMWin7Pro64US.exe
