Hey everyone, just bought a new pc and im wondering if you can help me with a problem i have... the disk drive doesn't seem to be reading anything i put into it... if i try to click on the drive when a disk is in it just becomes non-responsive..

Anyone else had this problem, know how to fix it?

Cheers,

Take it back to the store and swap it for another one. Regardless of what's wrong or how to fix it... if that's the condition so soon after purcasing... why wait to see if there are other problems?

Chances are there may be other problems you haven't found. Don't take the risk. Take it back before go past the return policy time limit.

If already have... contact the manufacturer and try and find an authroized repair depot. Can take it back to where you bought... but usually do better both time and quality wise going to an authorized repair facility. It's all under warrenty so should not cost anything.

Then next time remember... anything go wrong right out of the box don't spend more than a day trying to fix it... if it isn't a quick fix thing... take it back and exchange it. Sometimes they do make defective models... it does happen!

Me too have this problem. Inside your drive there will be the mechanism which rotates the disk fastly. First check whether the mechanism works properly. If there is problem in that mechanism then there is no use of that drive. Better throw it and buy new one. I hope there will no problem with your drive lens.
