Question Disk Management device not ready

Hi all,

I recently found an old IDE hdd with some photos on. I used a ide to usb adapter and for a few mins i was managing to see the contents. After about 5mins the computer jammed and after a restart i was able to access the IDE HDD anymore. When i look at the disk management i can see it there but get an error device not ready when attempting to initialize.

I tried playing around with different drivers and got to to show as usb and com port somehow.

Anything else i can try? or is the hdd gone?

Yes it's a smooth spin too.
