Disk Usage 99% and dont know why

Hey guys so I just built a new pc recently and booted and I see very high disk usage and don't know what to do, can anyone help me with this?

You can wait until it settles down.
Your PC is most likely running:
Windows Defender,
Search indexer.
Windows Updates,
Disk Defragmenter.
All of those services are capable of causing 100% disk usage on mechanical drives.

Task Manager doesn't show a lot of info.
Open Resource Monitor - Disk tab, Disk Activity section, order by total and post screenshot.

Disk Activity section is at the lower part of Resource Monitor window. You have it hidden away.
Expand it and adjust File column, so that file names are fully visible.

Instup.exe is part of Avast antivirus. That's the one that's causing your disk activity.
Good news that disk activity is only 28% (not 100% anymore).

Should I delete it or end the task? Is there a good free antivirus that doesnt use as much?
