My laptop specs-
i5 3210M
4GB RAM (I'm going to upgrade soon)
Intel HD 4000
750 GB HDD
Windows 10 Pro 64bit build 14393

On chasing down the process causing disk usage spikes, I ended up with this ntoskrnl.exe. It shows as the name 'system' under processes tab and is described as 'NT Kernel and System' in the details tab in the task manager

I have run malware scan on my pc, updated all my drivers and Windows to the latest ones as of 15 May 2017 and also disabled 'get tips tricks and suggestions as you use windows' in the settings.

Previously I had disabled superfetch and searchui services etc to reduce my disk usage which actually worked as long as the pc is idle. But as soon as I launch anything this ntoskrnl.exe process takes over the disk usage.

Is there any solution to this?

1 .Disable prefetcher in regedit key
: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory ManagementPrefetchParameters you must have Enable Prefetcher value 2 or 3 change to 0

Next disable superfetch in services.

step 1 search services.msc

Step 2. find superfetch click propetires disable it and stop

Sounds like this stops it.

No luck 🙁 approx 50% disk usage still taken by this process and it still goes upto 100 disk usage.
