Disk won't spin

I've a old Sata hard drive when I plug it into the reader the disc does not spin in device mamager comes up as Virtualdisk USB device its a seagate barracuda 2000gb any ideas on how to fix this or where I can get it fixed if possible please thanks.

Sometimes you can get it spinning by tapping it with something.

It helps to have it powered up when you do this.

I've gotten a lot of them going this way.

hello ryanmiskelly88, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The disk is no longer functional and there is no option to repair. If you need the data from it, a recovery service may help.

As seagate_surfer said, it sounds like your hard drive is dead. Hope you can somehow get some of your files back.
